I purchased all of your how-to files and built the components before I realized some of the complications of converting a 99 F 250.  I understand that you do not want to give away what others have developed but I was wondering if you could answer some very specific questions.  It seems that, short of buying the pump systems worked out by several in the field, it might be possible to run WVO in the the filter / heater unit directly above the IP with more or less the standard configuration of heated lines, golden glow heated filter, hotrod, glowplug heater and six port valve .  Will that work?  If so I imagine that it will take a much longer purge time. Do you have any idea how long I should run on diesel before turning off the engine?

Thanks,
Jonas

I don't know what to tell you. I have gotten myself into similar "fixes" in the past and it always seems (in retrospect) that I would have been better off starting over than trying to make what I had work for something else.

What you propose MAY work...I don't know for sure because I have not tested a similar configuration. And I have very little experience with converting the Ford Power-stroke engines.  Because others were investing serious time and money developing Power-stroke conversions I chose not to. As a result I don't have the knowledge needed to advise you on the configuration you suggest.  And I cannot ethically suggest a configuration that has been developed by others who depend on selling a kit based on it.

I feel badly that I cannot be much more helpful.

About the most helpful thing I can say is that there is quite a bit of information on how to convert the PS Ford diesel on the PS Ford forums. You just have to search the archives several years back to find it. No matter how you proceed...starting over from scratch or trying to use some of the components you already have I think it will be worth your time to do so.

Thanks Dana.  I have found a great example in the archives at Frybrid.  Some guy named the professor did a bang up job on a PSD conversion a few years back and has a schematic.
Happy greasing!!
