Any new info on converting air cooled diesel generators?

I need to buy a generator for my RV and I'm trying to decide on a diesel or gasoline. My RV already runs on WVO.

Does anybody make a conversion kit for air cooled diesel generators?

I don't think there is a kit made for any generator. But converting one isn't very hard. Diesel generators tend to be heavy, loud, or both. Not really the best option for RV'a IMO. To convert an air cooled diesel requires mostly electric resistance fuel heating. It can be done but unless you are able to use it for several thousand hours a small gas generator may be a better choice. I looked at this option for my TV and decided to install a quiet Yamaha "suitcase" generator instead.

Yea, I had a feeling there were no kits for generators.

Now I'm thinking about either a small gas powered generator like the one you got or a diesel with a 50/50 mix. Either way I'm going to be buying a used one off Craigslist for the least amount of money possible.

I didn't know diesel generators are louder. I'll have to look into that. Maybe I can add a better muffler?

It looks like an old..probably worn out..small construction genset. If it needs a new starter it probably needs lots more work as well. I wouldn't buy it...but if you are willing to rebuild it and parts are still available..it might work.

Thanks for the link. I couldn't find that exact generator anywhere on the internet including that website you gave me, so I think I'll just find a nicer and newer generator to buy.
