I am not sure where to start looking for a 1500w 220ac water heater element to heat my WVO for prefiltering. Should I be looking for some kind of junkyard find or for a replacement part in Sears (sounds expensive)? Where do old water heaters go when they are replaced?

Any ideas would be appreciated...
thanks,
Tom

They are not expensive and are available from plumbing supply, building supply, and hardware stores. They are also available form on line plumbing part suppliers but are generally slightly more expensive due to shipping costs.

I found two in a metal recycling/junk yard. I plugged in for a few seconds and it started to get hot so I think it works. I haven't collected my first batch of WVO yet. If it doesn't work I may check out plumbing supply.  THANKS!
