Many of the air leak problems experienced with new conversions are due to the use of the incorrect style of hose clamps. The commonly available hardware type hose clamps tend to "bunch up" the hose wall as they tighten from only one side. This is especially true with small diameter hoses.

A much better option are fuel line hose clamps or "shielded clamps" which tighten evenly from both sides.

These are the type you want to  avoid.

Any suggested online sources for the sheathed worm drive clamps?  This is the closest thing I've been able to find.

There are links to vendors in the component vendors section. Here's a direct link to the hose clamp section.

Unfortunately the minimum amount is 10 clamps of each size and shipping & handling is around $10 per order. I order them in bulk for fleet conversions and probably have most of the common sizes in stock if you need a mix of them...or just a few of one size.

I really don't want to get into retailing components more though. Maybe I can find a local student that needs a few hours of work each week "picking" and shipping.
