so yeah, its illegal..whoopdie doo... we have a huge bus that was sloppily converted and we wanted to do things right, we are a soon to be touring band, and we need all the cabin space as possible, so we discussed converting the pre exsisting diesel tank into the VO tank, then mounting a smaller tank for the diesel and rerouting etc...
are there downsides to this? how do we go about getting the heat exchanger in there> what kind of heat exchanger should we use? we got tons of questions, so help is AWESOME... we like you dana, because your about sharing information and not mongering it to make money... all the other conversion kit sellers weve found just want lots of money and no questions, we are purty damn diy, but need your help? thanks paper bird

I just posted a tutorial on converting an existing diesel tank
HERE. If you check back there in a day or so it shoudl be more complete. I try to keep this "forum" as organized as possible so info is easy to find. This is not really a "technical discussion" so please post other questions on VO conversion at: and it will be moved to the most appropriate section of the forum once it has been answered. http://www.websitetoolbox.com/tool/post/voconversionbasics/vpost?id=1156993

Don't be too hard on kit vendors. They have to make a living too. You couldn't survive if you didn't charge for your music could you? And you DO hope to save thousands of dollars of your yearly income on fuel right? I make my living from VO fuel conversion consultation services. My consultation rate is $60 an hour. But I try to devote 1-2 hours a day providing either free general help or lobbying, or educating, or supporting renewable energy development in some way. This "forum" was just my way of dealing with all of the email requests for help I get without having to repeat myself too much. __________________ Dana firstname.lastname@example.org
